I see most of you are keen Road riders...

Well try go on these roads. They are all legal roads and you need Insurance and MOT to ride them :p

Yes I am wearing a Suzuki Jersey and Ride a Husky :P

First time I took the GoPro out on a Greenlane.....need to change the POV a little higher

I went green laning on a friends KTM 525EXC toward the end of last year. First time I'd ever done it and he took me on some very rough lanes and through very deep mud puddles (came over the tops of my boots, surprised the bike didn't die). Not much "green" about the lanes though, mud and large rocks mostly. Absolutely awesome fun, but you need to be pretty fit, I could barely move the next day :D

Most embarrassing thing was he was on his huge/heavy 990 Adventure and still left me standing, though he does go laning pretty regularly, and I was a bit worried about destroying his bike.

Yes, regularly on my Yammy WR250F.

I love hill climbs and jumps :D

Often do 50-70 miles of lanes, Only thing that annoys me is horse riders being arrogant!

Yep, not that regular yet but hopefully when my bike is a bit more reliable and has the bigger fuel tank we'll be making more visits to Wales!

This is a lane we done on our first trip to Wales

Its great fun but hard work, and I've yet to master river crossings!!

:p

I want to, but I never did find any around Bristol or an easy way of finding them.
So as your location is bristol please share this elusive data.

Nice and there was me thinking I was the only Idiot here :)

Rizo you ever venture down bristol?

Mine is only a restricted 125 Husky as I have only done my CBT haha Damn

Glaucus. I only know 2 lanes in bristol the rest I only manage to go down as I follow people.

I am a member of the TRF so just go on ride outs. but hopefully I will learn soon enough all the lanes

I'll watch the video now

Recently picked up a DRZ400SM to get me through winter, but wouldn't mind using it during the summer for some green laning fun :)

Atm it has road wheels/tyres fitted. I'll mostly be on road with it but could use advice on dual purpose tyres. I don't really fancy swapping wheels/tyres over all the time, so something mainly suited to road use, but would also get by ok in the mud...

Thinking about a DRZ400SM tbh but in my eyes they seem to be more "on-road" bikes than off-road?

Couple of my mates have WR250 and DT 125's, then there's me with my sportsbike which fishtails if I go over 5mm of mud on the road! Haha

Id love a green laner my bikes not upto it i've recently considered a second hand DT125 Id love to see what I could get out of one of those tbh your husky looks sweet mate keep up the good vids :)

I too, including a close friend wanted to get into green laneing, we even got to the point of going to test ride some KTM EXC 400's together. But sadly, never went any further.

I would still LOVE it, as I am pretty close to a lot of country side.

But want to do it on the cheap, options?

Trouble is off road bikes are popular so tend to hold their value. Even the DR's still go for 1.5k upwards depending on condition.

Personally I'd stick with 4 strokes purely for the fact they dont need half as much maintenance.
Then its down to your budget really, see what's out there and read reviews.

Also, you can't be afraid to drop it, I can't think of many afternoons out when I haven't binned the DR! Granted I may ride a little more than a muddy track but the chance is you'll drop it at some point.

Dont forget, road gear isn't good enough and will get wrecked off road so budget for boots, lid, body armour etc.

Another DRZ owner here, cracking bike.

I've got loads of GoPro footage but rarely upload it. Here's one showing the flooding we had in November last year.

I didn't realize the DRZ is a submarine Gilly! First time i went into water that deep...i stalled it :( had to push the husky out of that water.

MADMAN69UK. The problem with dual purpose tyres are you can't really do many green lanes other than the Easy once. You would have to get a set of knobblies reallier...or a set of Trail tyres. They might be better suited.

Also does your SM have oversize disks? would most likley need to change them with new wheels.

Off road bikes to Hold their value VERY well.....but they are a thief magnet.

I had 3 guys try steal mine whilst i was on it one late night.

Lucky they where weak and i was outside my mates house with about 20 mates inside.

I still got a dent in the expansion chamber from the struggle
