Hi there,

Tempted to take advantage of Green Man Gaming's 75% off sale. I want to buy Dues Ex now, rather than wait for it on steam. My question is, how does the process work.

I Read the FAQ on how to buy and install games through the capsule client. However It states that Deus Ex requires steam to play. Do i still download it via the Capsule client? or do i simply get a cd-key via e-mail for me to copy into the steam client.

I believe you can download it through there client or take the cd key and enter it into steam and it will download through steam for you.
I believe the key comes up in your account purchase page

Not for this game. It is Steamworks and requires Steam. As you say, you will get a key after your purchase which you put in to Steam, but it can't be downloaded through Capsule.
 
Are you sure about that? Steamworks games do have installers and I'm pretty sure Capsule will just download the equivalent of the contents of a retail disk. I bought Human Revolution from direct2drive and that's what happened there, anyway.

Oh really. I was sure it required Steam, but if you say that I must be wrong.
 
Well, we'll find out tonight i guess, since it is a steamworks game im sure a cd-key will popup somewhere :)

Greenmangamings website is soooo slow, also hate their capsule client which installs games using the dreaded securom, i only buy games in their sales which come with a steam key.
 
GMG user here.

They just give you a serial key which can be instantly activated on steam.

Games > Activate a product on steam

Paste the key in the dialog box, bingo.
