What happened?

For my part, I've bought a grand total of one game from GMG. I was loath to start using yet another service (not to mention client) but the game I was after seemed to be unavailable anywhere else. Had no problems.
 
I've used GMG before, and had no problems, but that's not the point. You don't learn how good or bad a store is when things go smoothly. You learn what a store is like when a problem crops up.
Eames tells us GMG supplied the wrong serial keys. That's no big deal, mistakes can happen.
But when informed of this, their customer support seems to have been completely hopeless. That IMO is a good reason to think twice before using them again.

Did the situation get resolved, Eames?
 
I can't fault them at all, I have quite a few games from these and never had a problem.

No matter what company it is or what they do, someone somewhere will have bad service while many others will not. It is the way it is.
 
I recently bought L.A Noire from them at a fantastic sale price. Naturally, being a Rockstar title, it didn't work when installed it and I had to email GMG and eventually Rockstar for assistance. To the credit of GMG, they replied pretty sharpish etc.

In the end I had to do something totally unlegit to get a legit piece of software working, and then the same unlegit sort of thing to get it patched. How ironic.

I bought Dead Space 2 from them a while back for next to nothing in price and it worked fine on Steam. So, based on my experience, I think you may just be unlucky.
 
I've had no problems with GMG after several purchases from them.

They've been the quickest in replying to emails and enquiries too.

No. Their stance seems to have been "we've solved your problem, its your fault if the solution didn't work".

I had a check with our CS team and there's no record of a user "Eames" asking about those games in particular. We do have an Eames on the site so I'm guessing that might also be you? If I'm wrong please feel free to correct me :)

While we do have a couple of tickets from that account none of them are about the games in question, and if you do ever have trouble with any titles we always welcome users to come forward so we can try to solve the issue.

My gmg account name is crashdown86, I have been in correspondence with someone named CVictor and he gave me invalid keys for real warfare ii northern crusades and nyxquest kindred spirits.

He also asked me to provide a screenshot of the nyxquest activation showing the key was invalid. I emailed him a screenshot but nothing came of this.

Would like this to be sorted out. Cheers

Hey Eames,

Sorry about the trouble you've had, I took a walk to our CS team and tested out Nyxquest. It looked to be running perfectly fine. We grabbed some screenshots which should be coming to you soon via the ticket. So if you run the title through Capsule you shouldn't have any issues :D (If you do continue to have issues just let our CS know).

Warfare however didn't work! I imagine you may be presented with the option of a refund - we never like to see someone unable to play their games! :eek:

You'll get an update to the support ticket you posted soon, I hope your experience with Green Man Gaming hasn't been soured at all!

I was given a refund for real warfare, thank you. May I be please be given a refund for Nyxquest also as it doesn't look like I'll be able to get it working.

Good to see a company trying to put things right on this forum (makes sense as it's people like us on this forum who buy games on GMG). I have never had a problem with them myself.


Now James from GMG just needs to give us all a discount code for 50% off all games for life.

My own life would be dramatically cut short if I did that I bet :D But definitely keep an eye out as we very frequently have great discounts on games ;) Best way to follow it is through our social media :)
