Green pixels?

Hey, I've just built a new computer, and I'm getting a few green pixels flashing on the screen now and again, usually on grey colours.

Any idea why? Specs in my sig if it's a common problem with any of that?

Hmm..OS?
Where do they appear?
Do you play games? If so, do you get the green pixels in game?
Do they appear on the desktop?

General stuff:
Check and reconnect the video cable, make sure it's properly inserted into the graphics card and the monitor.
If you still have trouble, reseat the graphics card, reinstall drivers etc.

If you're still having trouble at that point, then you might have a problem on the graphics card. Will await your clarification though before suggesting anything further

Windows 7 64 bit. Professional if that matters.

Not often, but I do have COD4 installed, and I havn't noticed if I'm honest.

Not that I've noticed, I think I've only really seen them in FireFox.

I've only just installed the newest drivers for the card, so I doubt that's it?

Will check the cable and that now, but I was using the same monitor and cable on my old computer and it worked fine then?

I imagine its the screen TBH, to be sure reinstall the latest graphics card drivers.

Yeah, if you can rule out your pc by testing it on a different monitor.

hmm sounds like a stuck pixel on the monitor (specifically the green sub-pixel). You won't see it in any colours that use lots of green (e.g. white - uses full green, red and blue), but it will be most obvious on a black background

If you can, try testing your pc out on a different monitor as Coldzero said.

Check your graphics card temps make sure the fan is running, artefacts are caused by heat, but it could be a broken card, Iv bought 2 ATi cards which I had to return because they were faulty, Or of course it could be your monitor

It might sound very stupid and noobish but make sure the vga/dvi cables are properly fixed into the screen and the graphic card.

sounds like a suck pixel to me, i had one or two when i did my build, they usually go away eventually if you rub them a bit with your finger gently.

Depends how bad it is, it could just be a loose connection, are your plugs tight?

Worst case it will be a bad graphics card.

Definately not, never happened on my old computer and started as soon as I plugged in the new one.

Already checked everything you guys have said, but i have noticed that it has gone away now since I overclocked it and set the RAM speed and voltage?
