Hey guys, have a small green pixel sub-stuck/dead. Anything i can try and run? Or is sub-dead still dead? Just wondering if there's any apps that i've heard people talking about that flash the screen or similar? Thankfully i only have one of these pixels but i may aswell try :P

Sorry to hear your 2253 didn’t arrive perfectly, mine also came this morning but I was just leaving for work so haven’t been able to test it, I’m not filled with confidence though as it looks like the box has been opened and resealed. :(

When my last screen developed a stuck pixel a quick flick with my finger corrected it, although a friend had a screen that arrived with one from the start and this didn’t work. Though I understand you might not want to be flicking your new screen straight away, but it’s an option.

I’ve never tried any of the apps so I’ll leave that for somebody else to answer.

Tried putting pressure on it etc, managed to get it to dissapear but when i try massaging it, it re-appears then dissapears.

I had a dead sub-pixel like that where a light massage with a cotton bud made it disappear but it would reappear again randomly. Eventually after a few times of getting it to disappear it didn't reappear again.

I didn't have to use much pressure to get it to disappear so there was very little chance of causing a pressure mark or damage to the screen so as long as you're careful you might get it to vanish for good after a few attempts.

Best thing to do is to unplug your TFT, lay it down on a soft pillow, get some lavender oil and put a nice relaxing CD on. Then warm the oil and dip a nice frsh cotton cloth in the oil and gently massage the stuck pixel. :D

Can anyone advise me what to do? it only re-appears when i have the monitor off for long periods of time. I bought it two days ago so i'm still within the 7 days. it's just that it's right in the center of the screen. At the moment thankfully i can get rid of it by pressure and massaging it but i'm worried that eventually it won't go away.

Cheers.

Well it's not right in the middle, it's on the half way mark horizontally but to the left vertically.

Code:
|------|------|
| | |
| | |
|---x--|------|
| | |
| | |
|-------------|

It's like there.

If I were you I'd probably send it back. I just thought I'd mention that to fix a stuck pixel on my dad's old laptop, I had to massage other parts of the screen to get it to.. unstick.

I noticed that the guide linked above said you shouldn't because it can create more stuck pixels. If you really don't want to go to the hassle of sending it back then I guess you can try this, if it works great, if not or if it creates more stuck pixels you can still send it back.

Remember to use a lint free cloth or something similar when you do it unless you want marks all over the screen.

Leaving a blank white image on had helped previously, but until I did that massage it always came back, often within a few hours, now it's been gone for a few weeks, probably months come to think of it.

It seems like you are waiting for someone to tell you that it definitely won't come back, and I'm afraid that's something no one can know. People have fixed stuck pixels never to be bothered by them again, but it is equally possible that people have thought they'd fixed them only to have had them return.

I don't know if anyone reading this has managed to get rid of a stuck pixel only for it to come back and not shift a second time. If you want a 100% solution, send it back, your next monitor will most likely be fine, if you happen to get one with another stuck pixel keep sending them back, you'll have to pay for the postage, but that's the only way you'll get a 100% guarantee as I don't think OcUK offer a pixel checking service.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Arg, looks to be getting worse. I ran the jscreenfix which was mentioned earlier in the thread for two hours. Now when i put the monitor on a black background i see like 1/4 of a pixel green. They aren't as big as a normal pixel as they're incredibly small "dots". It looks like there are loads of them across the monitor. This is such a pain, i really expected more for paying almost £200 for what apparently is a great monitor. I think i will RMA it but is there any way i can ask for a replacement instead of a refund?
