Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14th - 17th July 2020]

Black power or black lives matter, taking the knee/salute? I've only seen the latter and they're far from the same thing as an outright racial slur and even then, AFTV did try to brush it under the carpet with some bs excuse, pretending he was talking about Spurs releasing a DVD. Part of the reason why he's been kicked off is because people replied to this excuse and Robbie's "I've never heard you say anything racist before" line, pointing out that this wasn't Claude's first offence and linking to a video where he makes a similar comment regarding Elneny.

To be honest it's the best thing for him. AFTV is basically a freak show now that exploits the likes of Claude. Looking at an image of Claude when AFTV started out and now, he looks like a guy that's had a total break down and needs sorting himself out:

Somebody told them its Rob's birthday. Tbf the VVD mistake sums up our performances since winning the title, we've lacked focus and been very sloppy.

I said before the restart that I didn't think we'd go on to get the points record with how the season was ending but I thought we might have bothered turning up for a game or two. There's been a clear lack of intensisty and focus, which is somewhat understandable. Might as well play the kids in the last 2 games and give the first teamers an extra weeks holiday.

The battle for 3rd and 4th is looking so tight right now. If Leicester hold on to this win then it's definitely going to the final game.

Just said that to a friend. It's nailed on to be a draw.
I don't think either side could risk just playing for a draw. You could write off either Villa or Bournemouth winning their last two and equally, Watford and West Ham could both easily lose their last two also.

edit: and with Watford facing City, their GD could take an absolute battering to, meaing 4 points could be enough for somebody.

That extra point gives them both a 2 game cushion with 4 points in hand, meaning either of Bournemouth or Villa would need to win both their remaining games, unless Watford or West Ham lose their penultimate game by a hatful of goals.

We have to get a minimum of a point against Arsenal now.
Watford's goal difference is 6 better than Villa's and just 4 better than Bournemouth's. For it to come down to GD then Watford would need to lose both games and with their 2 games being City and Arsenal, they could very easily be looking at -5 goal difference across the 2 games. That would then mean a 1 goal win and a draw would be enough for both Villa and Bournemouth to go above them (Villa on goals scored). Even 2 x 1 goal defeats would mean Bournemouth would only need a 2 goal win and a draw.

There's no way Watford are settling for a point tomorrow. It might be hard but both Bournemouth and Villa could realistically pick up 4 points and that will almost certainly be enough.

At some point Utd's luck with decisions will run out, fingers crossed it's on the final day of the season with Vardy winning a 95th minute penalty that was both offside and a dive, that costs them a CL spot.

That's West Ham safe then. Watford now are going to need to take at least a point from their remaining games vs City and Arsenal because I can't see Villa and Bournemouth not winning once between them.
