What would be the point of putting him in the squad. He would never play. I'm sure on talksport they did a piece on how many chances he misses to score. More than any other player considered for England. They also had the stats on how many fewer chances you get playing for England and how you need players to convert the one chance if you get it. He's like a crap Andy Cole. He offers nothing different and what he does do he does worse. Look at the players that never got near the England squad as a regular striker in the past, Ian Wright and Fowler and we are upset a Bamford doesn't get a look in. Are we that poor for options up front? No, no we aren't :p It's not like anyone in the top 10 would want to buy him, well maybe West-Ham.

Who's a better plan B striker who will do all the running off the ball, his hold up play is excellent, 6 assists as well as 14 goals? He deserves a shot behind Kane.

What utter rubbish. Thinking one is over rated and the other bang average has nothing to do with Leeds. I also think Ole and Maguire shouldn't be near the Manu team and Fat Shaw's season is being blown up. Doesn't make me a Manu hater. Find me posting mocking Leeds results when they are losing or anything else other than me thinking Bielsa needs to win something and this one post on Bamford needing far too many chances to score to be considered anything like a top level forward.

Anyway why is it ok for you to talk about other teams and players but not me?

It's about having a different option. let's take DCL as an example...he's a striker that has purple patches...doesn't really offer anything that's any different.


His stats this season are brilliant....until you break it down and realise he's scored 3 league goals in 3 months or 3 goals in the last 17 games.

Bamford has scored double the amount in the same period and double the assists.


If Southgate wants to use the whole "form argument" then explain that.
 
Just going to chuck my 2p in on Newcastle as a fan. The club cant be sold as a potential owner doesn't pass the fit and proper test yet we have an owner who is bleeding the club dry and neglecting the playing squad and facilities has a history of hiring washed up, useless, outdated managers from obscurity.

The whole Ashley ownership has been rotten. At this point I would take doing a Leeds if meant he would disappear and take a massive financial hit in the process.
 
Have to say being a Newcastle fan currently is pushing me into total ambivalence, starting to just tune in to appreciate fantastic football in the champions league rather than low table dross
