Greenlizard0 PL & Championship Football Thread ** spoilers ** [2nd - 6th April 2022]

Its a decent amount of money but we **** away the CL money on **** players anyway so a year out of the CL isn't a disaster. Has done Arsenal some good this season to have less competitions to worry about as well. Honestly i've just had enough with United. Struggling to care too much at times.

True but you have to completely miss out on europe and I reckon you're still too good for that, you'll end up in one of the Europa competitions and have more games/less rest :D

We still have to play all our top 4 rivals, it's still in our hands if we lose this. Our lack of depth was always going to be a problem.

First game back from an international break and a few key injuries, I wouldn't worry too much.

I’m starting to wonder about the likelihood of Vieira replacing Arteta one day.

It must be the job he really wants eventually.

Possible long shot for manager of the season, most people had them going down but they've bought smartly and look well coached.

I knew Arsenal had the harder run-in of the teams battling for top 4 but I've just skimmed through your fixtures and it's harder than I thought. Southampton away is always tricky, Chelsea away, Utd at home, West Ham away, Spurs away and even the home games against the likes of Leeds and Everton who could be battling for their lives - they're all potentially tricky games. And if I'm an Arsenal fan, I wouldn't be hanging too much hope of Liverpool beating Spurs just yet. All things being equal we'll be big favourites in that game but who knows what the title race situation will be like then and the situation with the CL. If we were to lose to City, the title race could be all but over by the time the Spurs game comes around and if we're still in the CL, who knows what side we're putting out in the League.

The game away to Spurs will be huge and a win there will make it very hard for Spurs but lose that and I think you're probably going to have to get two wins from Chelsea, Utd & West Ham, on top of winning the other games you should be winning.

My post was very much a cope :D

Agree on Spurs at Anfield, I think a motivated Conte Spurs team getting a result there wouldn't be a massive surprise. Chelsea and Spurs will be tough but we don't seem to **** the bed when playing them like we do pool/city so we can just about afford to drop points today. Missing our first choice fullbacks is really hurting us and the latest on Tierney is that he needs surgery so god knows what we're gonna do about Tavares.

The only saving grace was the others all had Europe to contend with but that's becoming less of a problem now, just gotta hope the others take enough points off each other.

Manager of the season!!?? For what lmao. You cant give that award to someone who has won 8 out of 30 games lmao.

1.23 PPG 34% win percentage

Hodgson was 1.22 PPG so i guess a 0.01 improvement is something especially when 80 million was spent in the summer ffs.

I did say it was a long shot, there's always a nomination for a manger thats massively improved a team and there's no chance he's going to win it but he'd deserve a nomination.

Sure they've not won many games, but every single metric has improved and the play style is actually half decent to watch compared to the turgid football Roy had them playing. In his last season they had a -25 GD and finished 14th, they never had a positive GD under roy or a top half finish and this season they're on track to finish with a positive GD and a comfortable top half finish, they've achieved neither since getting promoted in 13/14. Furthest they've gone in the FA Cup too since Pards was managing them. Thats a very good season for a club like palace.

If they have a similar summer window and manage to keep/replace Gallagher they could easily be pushing the likes of West Ham/Wolves/Man U for a Europa spot.
