Glad I went out and missed the match! After West Ham I had a sneaky feeling we’d make the city game a must win, just surprised we managed to scrape a draw.

I think we’re seeing fatigue catch up to us and with City having all the momentum, it’s the first time I’ve favoured them for the league. I’m still hopeful but it relies on City’s fixture congestion paying dividends, and with their run in it’s far from over.

Saliba is a big miss, without him it’s hard to see us not getting battered against City unless we change our game plan and not try to outplay them. With games in hand a draw wouldn’t be the end of the world.

As depressing as the final games could be, I think it’s important to have some perspective, 2nd is a massive achievement and with some signings in the summer we could build a team that continues to challenge the elite. Spurs/Pool/Chelsea aren’t solving their issues with one window, and Newcastle still have a long way to go despite their league position. It’s the most I’ve enjoyed supporting Arsenal for a long long time and I can only see us moving forward whatever happens at the end of the season.

The league has been pretty unusual this year, you don't often see Chelsea and Liverpool in mid-table. City will probably get better next season too. I don't think Spurs will ever get anywhere under Levy.

As for Man Utd, my main worry at the moment is what's happening with the owners... if we did somehow get bought by Qatar, everything changes in an instant. All sounds very messy at present.

Oh no doubt, I always thought it would be far more depressing to lose it against beatable sides than dropping points against the likes of Liverpool and City, especially at their grounds. We’ve capitulated badly if we don’t win it, we’ll look back at games against soton, Everton, West Ham and Brentford and wonder how we managed to drop points in very winnable games.

I guess my point is more that we’re a team in transition and this season has been a year or two too early in the long term project. Should we have had much more daylight between us and City? I think that’s unquestionable, should we feel too broken up about not winning the league? Maybe not in the grand scheme of things, but it’ll be a bittersweet 2nd place regardless.

Man U is the one team I think we should be worried about, they’ve shown that they’re a force with their first XI and with a better CB and CM in reserve they’d be a lot closer to the top two. A top class number 9 is also a big miss but it feels like there’s a global shortage of them so everyone bar City will most likely be in the same position. Transitioning from DDG will also be tricky, great GK but doesn’t fit with how Ten Haag wants to play.
