Hopefully Wednesday can maintain the pressure on the sides around them / above them this weekend.

I think I'm right in saying we've won every single home game so far this season, bit of a local derby this weekend too, so should get a bumper crowd :)

You should likely win that if you can keep control of Leon Clarke. Madine seems to be scoring for fun at the moment. It sounds weird referring to Wednesday as Dark Horses (don't take offence :D) this year - seeing as you've had a couple of underwhelming seasons - but I reckon this year's top six will between the Sheffields, Preston, Charlton, Huddlesfield and MK Dons. No surprises this year I reckon with both Leyton Orient and Bournemouth taking massive steps back after last year's impressive runs.

I like Leon Clarke! I've no idea why we let him go on a free.

Anyway, looking forward to the game, should win and it's a chance to wind up some friends ;)

I miss being in L1 sometimes, weekends like this should be filled with a trip to Carlisle or something not watching the over payed international games....

We can go top of League 2 today if we beat Morecambe. Or alternatively we could slip down to 10/11th! League 2 is too close at present to really mean much!

Nice to see some FL chat rather than being dominated by the PL like every other week, lol.

I dreamt of a 2-0 win, so I'm going to go for that, but could be anything. Depends if the midfield turns up. Another Christian Jolley/Jack Midson goal no doubt, both are on fire :) Can see Jolley moving on at some point :(

Midson & Jolley goals have put us 2-1 up after being 1-0 down. Another win and up to 3rd! Going great this season.

Sheffield Wednesday 3 - 1 Chesterfield

People should have gone to see some lower league football today! Good day out and not too expensive :)

Good win, that's undefeated at home, winning all six of our games.

Really good derby today; 25'000 fans ((well a shade under) take note Wigan ;)) Enjoyable, end to end action. Chesterfield were better with the ball, but alas had no end result, mainly thanks to very good defending from Wednesday and poor finishing.

James O'connor and O'Grady, were useless first half (and second but they were both subbed)

Wednesday played well first half, after a slow first ~10 minutes, Chesterfield threatened but that's all they did. Wednesday hit the post and had a chance cleared off the line too.

Leon Clarke (ex Wednesday player, he returned to us weighing about half as much as he did when he left us) was Chesterfields best player by some distance, constant movement up top and was unfortunate to be up against such a strong centre back pairing, another defensive he'd have easily dominated. He was given the usual treatment ex players get on their return (Great chants of "Paaaulo Dicaaaanooo")

Good win, could have been 5/6 to Wednesday and Chesterfield could have perhaps had one more, but 3-1 was a good result.

Been talking to a fair few of the boozer AFC fans on the way back from morcambe on the train, sounds like you guys had a good game.

To go the six hours up to Carlisle and be trailing 2-1 to am offside goal and an own goal is less than fun. Equalising with 3 mins to go is lots of fun though!

Tummy that sounds madness! Puts you guys second a win behind CAFC!

Didn't think about going to lower league football today till it was too late (walking past st albans having a home game at about half 3 made me sad-ish)

Good game. Chesterfield were better as the second half went on last ~30 minutes was all them, but by that time Megson had made all three changes and the side was unbalanced and a few players unsure of their role / positions.

Madine's goal and Marshall's goal, second and third respectively were really well taken, good goals.

Good enjoyable end to end derby, plenty of emotion and effort by all the players. Good game, really enjoyed it this afternoon :)

I urge people to go and watch more League One football :p I've been surprised at times at how many of the sides actually play decent football (by that I mean pass and move, not kick and rush) there are some pretty handy players.

I don't think quality wise it's that far off the Championship either, certainly not for the top half of the top half of the table.

What do you think of Marshall?

Ahh not this again :p

I think he's good, he's getting a bit better almost by every game.

He has good feet, passes quite well, intelligent on the pitch, calm in possession, good crossing and has pace and energy to burn.

He's almost the first name on the team sheet, works very hard for the team and works very well under Megson.

He's said he wants to stay all season with Wednesday, which would be a massive boost for us, as I don't think he's good enough for Stoke in the Premier League.

He's a good player, probably too good for League One. Took his goal very well today.

If Etherington can't sort his fitness/injury niggles out we may be forced to have a look at Marshall when his loan ends. We really do rely on having 2 wingers and look really poor when we are playing with just one.

I don't think he's good enough for a Premiership side :)

He's getting better though, there is a big improvement in him since when he first joined.

He's settled and playing every week which must help too.

Should have organised my self to some football on this logic :p

L1 is weird, some weeks it was the worst thing iv ever been too, watching Hartlepool, Oldham, Walsall and Tranmere turn up for a 0-0 and celebrate it like it was winning the FA cup was a bit of a drag. But so many of the teams when they get going (dagenham was the best example) really gave it a bash and tried to get lucky, making every game a real event :)

The npc has been over rated, lots of ex-prem teams that have fallen apart fail to play any decent football (best footballing team out side of saints has been Forrest and they really were let down by the players lack of ambition to McClarens ideas which sums it all up really).

I miss lower league sometimes :(
