True just seems strange as would have thought if any concerns for them both would have been planned as start date for season was known yonks ago.

Rate gomez first of all but Matip must feel abit poop, when he came in last season he did absolutely superb and better than pretty much every r supporter expected imo, not done anything to deserve to be dropped.

Apparently both players were not happy leaving their families and homes for the two days it would take to play at Newcastle.
Seems weak to me, security could have been arranged ages ago.
