Initially, this will be a Windows-only release. This is due to some technical complications that we soon hope to correct. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thanks to geohot for the bootrom USB exploit. We have opted to use that instead of SHAtter for the sake of exploit presevation.
This release of greenpois0n supports:
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3G S
- iPod touch (4th Generation)
- iPod touch (3rd Generation)
- iPad
Soon there will be another release, adding things like support for:
- Apple TV (2nd Generation)
- iPod touch (2nd Generation)

This, currently, is the only way to jailbreak the 3GS, i4, on iOS 4.1.

Here is the million dollar question,
iPhone 3GS - Jailbreak with Greenpois0n or limera1n?

I am currently on 4.0 and jailbroke with jailbreakme previously.

If I wanted to upgrade to 4.1 and then re-Jailbreak will I lose all my customisation? because as soon as I upgrade to 4.1 via Itunes I won't be jailbroken until i apply either greenpois0n or limera1n

Pdog - all Jailbroken apps will disappear once you upgrade the FW to 4.1, so yes you will need to re-download them after a new Jailbreak.

Just need to decide which Jailbreak to use, worst case scenario, I could also restore and reapply the other Jailbreak?

Just trying to think ahead, of future Jailbreaks because for reading previous posts certain JB's only work depending on how the device was previously Jailbroken.

OK. This raises the question.... what is the difference between Limerain and Greenpoison?

If they both do the same thing and have no discernible differences, Limerain it will be.

AFAIK Greenpois0n uses the Limera1n exploit so they are pretty much the same. I still haven't jailbroken mine but I'm probably going to use Greenpois0n, just waiting on a decent guide on how to do it

Meanwhile, greenpois0n has also been released, but it is also based on geohot's exploit and so far people have reported some problems with it.
