Greetings from Sunny Cyprus

I'm near Limassol, only going to be here for three years in total, and already done nearly two.

It's still a great feeling watching the weather forecast in the UK warning of winds and rain and fog and what's that other thing, oh yes snow!!!

I love Cyprus, although it has gone downhill over the years, it used to be cheap as chips to live here, not so much now. Food is stupidly priced. Just waiting for an Aldi to open, that will shock the local supermarkets.

Never get in a taxi if I can help it , the horror stories of them taking you to, ahem, gentleman's clubs, and forcing you inside before emptying your bank account aren't good. When I was here a few years ago I remember a guy being admitted to the bed next to me in the ward after getting a good kicking, when a friendly taxi driver had left him with a gang of yuufs!!

There's a real problem with the Russian mafia in Limassol and most other cities here. Not very widely known, but I think travel companies should be telling tourists to be aware and careful, certainly when on their own.
But there are still lots of good things here, Ayia Napa is interesting and some real nice places to go and see.
