Grey imports, DSLR Hut, ebay retailers ect.

I purchased my D5200 with 18-55mm kit online last year (can't remember the retailer) for £380.00. It couldn't be had in the shops at the time (Jessops, Argos ect) for under £500 so was very happy when it arrived within 3 days and has worked flawlessly ever since. It came with the latest firmware, so no issues.

I’m now after a D7100 which can be had body only for just under £500 brand new delivered (UK stock, no import duties). Again, I’m aware of the warranty issue but didn't want to get it only to find it didn't have the latest firmware and i'm not able to update it..

At roughly £250 cheaper than the high street think i'll take a punt.

it is my understanding that grey imports are exactly the same as the camera's that you would purchase from a high street store, they come from the same warehouses and are just allocated to different area's when they leave the warehouse. I purchased a D5300 with 18-55mm kit a month ago for £380 from HDEW, they are uk based and the camera was delivered within 5 days, also came with a 3 year warranty card from a third party.

I've heard good things about hdew warranty
Never had to test it. And tbh even if they didn't handle it I have still saved so much I would be in pocket if my 70d broke
