Is this an acceptable combination? I've a wedding coming up soon and need a new pair of shoes to go with my dark grey French connection suit, I quite fancy a pair of brown/tan brogue type pair, but will I look like a tool? or should I just stick with plain black boots?

Unitl a few years ago brown shoes and suits was for Italians and spivs but I think the tide has turned. I wore brown shoes to a wedding the week before last and was so knee deep in bridesmades I had to **** my way out.

Agree with some of the above. Light grey suit with light brown it tan shoes goes well together. Brown belt, matching shoes also important. Plain, white or light pastel shirt. Avoid brown tie if wearing brown belt tho. Better to go with red, pink, white stripe for example. What about sandies??

Ed; dark brown suit + light brown/tan shoes...Nope, wear black shoes with darker grey suits. Much smarter or dark brown shoes, which imo dont look as good as black.

I'd not wear a gray suit with brown shoes frankly.

Only were it a light tone of grey would I consider it.

I'd just head to Barker's and pick up a pair of shoes from there. They're super shoes frankly.

Looks excellent, it's a total classic. Shows class and style. Very Italian, and they know their fashion. Make sure the shoes are clean and polished, and make sure the colour of the belt matches the shoes.
