Hi guys,

Just a question about GRID. I started playing it last night, and played the first race multiple times, multiple restarts without any problems. Seems a very hard but fun game :D I then went onto the drift race (S15 silvia), and halfway through it would start freezing (sound kinda repeating), then black screen, then eventually come back, allow me to carry on for a little while then do the same. I tried it again this morning, and it still is doing the same (I turned the case fans rigth up this time though).

Don't have an issue in any other game, and strange it just started doing this in the 2nd race. After the race it would not return to the main menu (well it would in the sound but the display was just black).

My setup is in my sig.

This may sound stupid, but I had CTD's on the GRID demo when I was running my e8400 @ 3.6ghz, while every other game was fine. Try running the game with stock settings, maybe it was just me but I think the game is sensitive to overclocking...

It's not crashing to desktop it's pausing for several seconds, then black screening, then apparently recovering for a few seconds, then repeating the process, but so far only in Drift mode. The 1st regular race was perfect with no issues (apart from my driving ;))

O didn't see it only happens in drift, I assumed it happened the 1st time in a drift race. Sorry. But its fine everywhere else?!?! Re-install?? Patched?

Non-patched and running off virtual DVD drive. Don't see why it would be a prob running from virtual drive though, as it was completely fine in the 1st race for an hour of playing (non-drift).

Not too keen to patch as people's reports seem pretty bad for it.

Managed to get it running perfectly.

System: O/C'd 3870 on Asrock Core2Dual-VSTA with O/C'd E4300.

Game setup: Installed GRID from ISO virtual DVD drive to avoid having to use DVD all the time.

Fix: This was NOT to use the disc, or to de-clock, but simply to create a new user account, to play the game in. I simply called it "Gaming" and changed nothing else. I had to start again, but assume I could have copied the saved games from my original user account.

Game runs flawlessly @ 1280*1024 with no crashes, and looks very pretty if very frustrating to play on a keyboard ;) I think this suggests it is more of a windows problem than anything else.

Hope that helps someone :)
