Grid causing system crash

I installed grid last night and after playing for a while, upon exiting the game im getting a system crash which results in a black screen, system specs are,

Q9550 @stock
Asus p5q deluxe, 4 gb pc 8500
Xfx gtx 280 xt @stock

Appreciate any advice on how to sort this.
 
thats really strange, have you tried re installing it ?

i had a few problems with grid the other night
 
Seem to remember grid having issues with 4GB and x64 o/s on some machines, think I remember having issues with it myself. Not getting it to run etc.

Think I ended up getting an app that patches exe's with a 4GB fix.

Havent tried yet mate, but ill give it a go, incidentally, the version im running isnt from an actual dvd, i purchased the game via download from play.com, not sure if this would make any difference though.

Currently on xp32 home on my rig chaosophy, though i do have 4bg of ram installed.
 
I used to play GRID fine, back when it came out. When I tried again a few months ago, it refused to load in STEAM. I managed to get it to load eventually by giving the executable admin rights or something, now it will crash after every race when it attempts to load a new level.

I don't know what they have done to break it.
