I dont knwo if anyone rember, but about amonth ago I asked why grid was stuttering on my system, and the general view was 2GB of DDR3 RAM wasnt enough.
I have just got 4GB from OCUK and it stll stutters, im playing it at 1680 x 1050 with 2AA on the spec below

Q6600
GTX280
4GB OCZ DDR3

Is my spec fine? What else should I try?

My spec isn't as high as yours and it runs super smooth on mine at the same res and settings so I doubt it is due to your hardware,

For reference my spec is :

q6600
4gb ddr2
4870

E6600
2GB pc6400
SLI 8800Ultra

and mine fair flies, absolutely stunning, averages around 60fps

Is grid the only game that stutters for you?

Plays everything thing else fine just this. Used to be water cooled too so heat wasnt a issue. Still isnt, gpu never goes about 72C on any game and cpu on prime95 is only 43C

It's smooth as silk for me @ 1920x1200 with 16XQSCAA on a Q6600/4GB/8800GTX system, sticks around 35-40FPS :)

Stock is still more than enough to play it yes, mine is clocked above 3GHz as i run SLI and to get the max out of it you need a minimun of 3.0GHz.

What OS are you running? XP or Vista

You turned search indexing of in services, when i first installed vista Grid refused to play smoothly at all, turned this off and did a few other tweaks and viola, smooth as

Stupid Question but do you have SP1 installed? and the latest directX

Its running off a OCZ SSD 64gb. Maybe this problem? WHat are these tweaks you say? How do i turn indexing off?

Cheers guys, soudns like I might solve this today. YEAHY!!!
