Grid stuck on loading screen

Reinstalled grid last night, after setting up my profile the game starts another loading sequence but seems to just stick at this point, im running the latest sound/graphics drivers and the game is patched to ver 1.3, os is windows 7 home premium 64, any one have any idea whats causing this issue. Thanks in advance.
 
There's meant to be an issue with GRID and 8-core processors (hyperthreading). There's a solution around here somewhere, though I can't remember it offhand.
