GRID Sudden Frame Slowdown

I've started playing GRID again, but every so often the game will lag for a few seconds, then the frame rate will drop to around 10FPS. Other than that it runs nice and smooth.

This happened every so often back when I first started playing the game and it seems to happen quite often to other people (there are a few threads about it on their forum).

I've upgraded/reinstalled drivers since I first played the game, and the problem still occurs. Temperatures are fine as well.

Any ideas?

Anything specific happen when the frame drops? crash? smoke? other cars?

could be another pro running in the background, maybe an anti virus just doing a quick burst scan

have you lowered all settings to see if that gets rid of it, in that case if it does, up each setting till you notice the lag again

I sometimes notice this when there's an accident and smoke/particles etc. It's a lot less pronounced on my GTX280 than it was on my 8800GTS, but it still drops badly, even though the rest of the game is well over 60 frames.

I had this problem

It was a proper pain... was all set high, looking great and no slow down. BUT then id experience a right slowdown for a few seconds, then it would go super fast trying to catch up! Was sooo weird! I tried everything to fix it, and could not Stopped playing the game actually.

Then i changed from a 3870 to a 8800gt and all my issues had gone

Nope, just normal driving when it happens.

I'll lower the settings & see what happens.
