I hear you can use 360 controllers with grid. So plugged one into a usb port, windows recognized it tho couldn't install software(presume this is fine). Loaded up grid but cant work out where to set it to controller, any ideas?

Cheers

Sheldon

Grid recognised my xbox 360 controller automatically. If you go into options then driving option in Grid it should read xbox 360 controller on the top line.

Nope not there. Doh. What have I got to do before this, anything? or should it find it? I haven't installed any drivers for the controller, do I have to?

Yes, you do. (Or I had to anyhow)

As per the instructions with the pad, you are supposed to install the software before plugging the pad in. ;)

It will then recognise the pad and automatically install the drivers.

just plug it in and either install that from above, or use windows update to get the driver

works perfectly in GRID :)

Cheers. Im downloading drivers. I have a wireless 360 controller, but its plugged in via usb lead charge kit so should work?

Installed booted up grid and cant see it, any other ideas, do I have to uninstall grid and reinstal it?

The USB charge lead only carries power not any data so it won't work. To use a wireless controller you will need to buy a Xbox 360 Crossfire PC reciever.

You need the controller software installed before connecting the controller. Thus, you are currently using a generic driver, due to installing the controller software after connecting it. To fix it, you need to uninstall the controller software, then uninstall the controller in device manager. Reinstall the software, and then connect the controller afterwards.

His controller is wireless, you'll be sending him in cirles. It needs an adapter so he can use wireless xbox360 controllers on his PC.

I have always connected the controller & then install the driver with out problems.
[EDIT]Also the charge&play kit does carry data as that's how im using it right now with out the wireless receiver plugged in.[Wrong]
But you may need the wireless reviver plugged in to install the driver.

I may be wrong but im sure i tried for many hours to get this combination to work only to find statemants by M$ stating the play and charge kit will not work because it does not carry data, new revision maybe as this was when they were first released?

My Bad i pulled out the wrong USB that was the same colour & indeed the play & charge kit does not carry all data but when i plug in my controller that is synced to my 360 into the P&CK the pad syncs to the PC.

Cheers guys, Im trying to find one of these adaptors on a well known auction site but what am i meant to search for? Can only find 1! Whats there name and what price should I be looking to pay?

Just buy a wired one. About the same as a wifi adapter and provides you with another controlled should you have any friends :)

all you have to do is run windows update.. it'll have the 360pad driver available for download when it detects you have one plugged in.

3 clicks, max..
