A few of us popped along to this today and it was surprisingly awesome. Lots of incredibly well cooked food and a nice selection of ales/beers.

We ended up haggling and buying two awesome BBQs between us. At the same time we got to try some ribs made by one of the teams that entered the "King of the 'Q'" competition. They tasted even more amazing than they looked and were ridiculously thick/juicy (my hand in the image to give some kind of scale).

All in all it was an awesome day and I'm definitely going to go next year. I might enter in the chilli eating competition too. I think I could've taken on the winners

Yep they do it in Bristol but the events got quite big that's no chance of a sample without queuing up / registering for tasting so i find it less fun . I think guys run it opening a restaurant here too soon.
Did you see burger theory near music part they do very good burgers too !

Yeah, getting samples of anything good was hard work generally. We only got this because we were spending a few hundred buying BBQs from the guy really and I spent about half an hour badgering him for BBQing tips

We saw the Burger Theory place and although it sounded and looked great they stupidly had a McDonalds-looking burger picture on their stall as part of their main advert and it put us all off until way after we had filled up on other food.

haha , yer they inside a local pub down here, make some good burgers for the price, last year i picked some of this up http://www.buttrub.com/index.html looks crap but been best rub on BBQ product I've tried. this thread reminded to get on ebay and get some more.

Ah yeah. That stuff was on sale there. At first I avoided it because it looked a bit blah but after trying the absolute best pulled pork ever (I've made some very good pulled pork at times but this really did put everything I've ever done to shame) and finding out that the only seasoning was the Butt Rub stuff I wish I'd picked some up.
