For a while now, ive had a classic black Globalwin-802 with 3 internal case-mounted 120mm YS-Tech FD1225 fans and in all honesty 99% of the time ive had them they have been turned off.. But now ive just about reached the hardware limit of this case and the air is getting warmer, i find myself needing the fans on more and more to control the temperature.
I have a custom built fan controller which controls the voltage being passed to the fan and has the ability to control from totally off to totally on, in 1v increments.
Unfortunately, YS-Tech fans seem to have a 6-7V startup voltage and once this point is reached turning them down below this causes them to groan for power.
Ive been searching for a while for a fan with a lower start voltage or one which offers the ability to work on very low power levels but i can't seem to find much information on this subject.
After thinking a while i wondered why i didnt ask the people that would know to start with (your lovely selves )
If anyone has had similar experience or can shed some light on my search it would be greatly appreciated
