Any recommendations for a fun standalone hardware groovebox? Wanting to pick something up for my GF and trying to look past the Polyend Play as being the ideal choice.
Background story: during some downtime whilst Sónar was in full swing, we stumbled across an excellent store/space with a huge amount of analogue synths and other modular goodness and my GF was immediately smitten with one particular piece of kit.
I think she was messing about with the Polyend Play, as it looks vaguely familiar, but it had been a long day and my brain was having trouble taking everything in at this point - could well have been an Oxi Instruments One.
Needs to be something easy to use, preferably with lots of buttons to run the sequencer element, and under £500 if possible.
And yes, we have spoken with the owner of the store but he cannot remember which one it was. Both were on-show and on the same desk space, annoyingly!
