Hi all,

Lync related, but if we apply the GPOs Lync stops working. In fact, the services won't start properly which means it can't even see the SQL server / databases properly. Drop the Lync boxes out of any applied GPO and all the services start.

I've done an RSOP and can't see anything glaringly obvious although there are some firewall rules being applied which I am checking now.

Any ideas?

All a bit too general to offer any help I'm afraid. What gpo's are you applying, what settings in particular, where are they applied, and who to?

Troubleshooting is straightforward enough. Assuming you have multiple Gpo's, simply unlink each gpo one by one, and gpupdate /force until you find the policy causing whatever issue it is that you are seeing. At that point start working your way through the policy settings until you find the one causing you grief.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing now. Problem is, there are 3 Lync FEs which each require a gpudate /force and a reboot in order to come back up correctly... poop
