Hello All,

Hopefully someone can anwser the following question for me plz ..

On a W2K3 server I have a Group Policy applied to an OU in the main domain. I want to also apply the same Group Policy to another OU at the same level in the main domain, , but, , and here is the question>

I want to be able to change a couple of things within the GP, but onlty in the second OU???. Now when I change the setting in either OU it make the change also to the other.

Is there away around this plz

Many thanks for any input :)

It will change in both locations. Depending on what your doing you either need to make a copy of the GPO. Or keep the main GPO and create two more (one for each OU) to hold the settings that differ.

Thanks...

So,

If I copy and rename the GPO will it behave independently of the one it was copied from?

Whats the best way to make the copy.

Many tx

Got to remember that the GPO is only linked to an OU, like a shortcut, so one GPO linked to 2 OUs will mean that both OUs would change.

Thanks...

Yup

Right click the GPO in the Group Policy Manager, click copy, can't even remember if you then have to paste it or it just creates a copy :)

Then remove the link to the original GPO on one OU and link it to the new copy, rename it something appropriate.
