There has been a similar thread before but didn't really help me. As there was only one answer and that wasn't appropriate.
I am looking for some task manager software (not Outlook) that has specific requirements:
- detail for each diary event to include: description; responsibility; reoccurances (ie one-off, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly), due date, etc.
- Items to be input by anyone but only managers allowed to delete/delegate.
- Proactive notifications sent out to users to remind them of tasks.
- Ability for authorized users to have overview of all tasks/assignments and possibly pull of a report of outstanding items, etc.
- Have multiple department/manager/user groupings. I.E - Accounts Team and Production Team for example. With completely separate overviews.
I know Outlook does some of this but in practice it is very messy. Users can also delete delegated tasks to them and it doesn't notify the manager/delegater!
It doesn't matter how this comes, as long as it does the above. Would be willing to sacrifice some less important aspects. It can be SQL Server based or share a database on a network share.
I just need some software ideas. What do other people use/know of?
