Grown up/minimalist gaming peripheral?

For a long time I've been building toward a full black and orange setup which has been going quite well so far (Func MS-3, Fnatic Asphalt mousemat, custom headphone cable and a few other bits and bobs) but where I've kind of hit a roadblock is the keyboard as I can't find any tenkeyless (has to be, desk at uni is tiny) mechanical keyboards with orange backlights (I know the Ducky's on sale and that's quite tempting mind even with the full layout).

I've got a bit of cash to throw around as a little present to myself and I've been thinking about going full minimalist like you see in quite a lot of battlestations style posts, but I don't really want to drop to some horrible rubber dome keyboard and say a Logitech MX Performance mouse to that end.

So my main question, I guess, is are there any real options in gaming peripherals that are a little more grown up if I do go away from the orange/black aesthetic? (I use my gaming pc as my photography workstation). I was thinking something along the lines of the CM-Storm Rapid-I paired with the CLG DeathAdder because I quite like the black and white style but I'm just doing research at the moment.

(Note: I don't mind going back to a dome keyboard if it's a good one, e.g. being thoroughly honest I preferred the feel of my G15 to my K65 (MX Reds), just nothing horribly spongy like those small Perrix boards)

TL;DR: Gaming peripherals that don't scream gamer?

Also wireless would potentially be nice as I'm going on a huge cable management binge after uni exams.

Get the ducky, even in full board form its tiny compared to a "gaming keyboard"

I came from a cyborg v7 and its the best 100 quid I spent, now looking at replacing my work keyboard for a mech, if your not a lover of reds try browns i love mine.

Yeah I'm definitely tempted to. I'll have a quick check of the dimensions (the main issue isn't so much stuff not fitting as much as the Fnatic mousemat is pretty huge so with a full keyboard it's quite common to end up with one side of the keyboard sitting on it)

EDIT: I remember seeing a single monitor clamp stand, I think mrk had it, it was a long chromed tube from what I remember are those a thing still? The stand on my Asus PA238Q is pretty huge in terms of footprint, would be nice to not need to use it.

EDIT2: Wait I'm an idiot I didn't realise Ducky brought out a tenkeyless, sweet

A mechanical keyboard is certainly worth it, but whether you're after a full size or TKL layout, choice is dependant what switch you're after. For mice, check out Mionix. Very clean look, but everything you'd want for gaming. The Naos is a right hand mouse and the Avior as ambidextrous, both have RGB LED's too, allowing you to match them to what colour scheme you're after. :)

Id still be tempted to go with the full layout at 99 quid

Yeah that's one of the problems of it - it'd feel weird paying /more/ for a tenkeyless, but at the same time I prefer tenkeyless because it means that the mouse can be much closer to my left hand

Go for it! I went for a TKL version for exactly the same reasons as you state, small form factor and better feel for left hand/right hand placement when combining it with a mouse for gaming.

I only received my Brown Cherry MX Switch TKL Ducky yesterday and I have to say it's the best investment in a peripheral I have made. Really like the responsiveness of the keys the lighting controls and settings are fantastic.

And I admit I felt strange spending a little bit more than the I could have spent on a full size Ducky but that feeling went once it was sat in front of me on my desk and I started to use it. :D

* SteelSeries 6GV2 mechanical keyboard (Cherry Black switches, very durable build quality, no fancy features, only features small white lights for NumLock/CapsLock/ScrollLock at top-right.)
This or a Ducky would be my choice. I have infact just this week taken advantage of the £99 offer and bought a black Ducky with orange backlight for use at work. At its lowest brightness setting the backlight is very unobtrusive and doesn't look completely out of place attached to a pro workstation.
I really fancied the tenkeyless but couldn't say no to a bargain so went fullsize :)

Part of the reason though far from the main one for my current setup - Ozone Strike (Blacks) and Zowie FK is that they are fairly understated looking.

Black and orange you say?!
