I got the shock of my life today when i was having a physical (life insurance purposes). The doctor measured my height as 6ft. I've always held the assumption that i was 5ft 10.5 and thats how i measured it last time when i was 21.
I'm 29 now and apparently its true, went to my parents place and found the doorframe i last measured 8yrs ago, the 'scratch' was still there and the first thing my mum said is that i definetly was over it. No shoes on and a grade 1 :p so not artificially enhanced. The new mark was 6ft and a wee bit.

I thought one stopped growing after 18? Should i be concerned? :D

It varies from person to person but the average is supposed to be late teens. I didn't stop going upwards till I was about 20-21.

It sounds like you have been badly measuring your self all these years :p

Plus welcome to the 6 foot and over club, your membership will be in the post.

Did you go in the morning and only measure yourself before late at night? You are taller in the mornings.

Well it was about 2hrs ago i measured at parents, doctors was at about 11am.

Just turned 25 and I'm 5'6" :(

Not tall but not exceptionally short mate, my dads 5ft 7 and a little and no ones called him short ever.

You start shrinking after 30.

Ain't that the truth. I was always a smidge over 6'2" in my younger years, now I am lucky to measure within half an inch of that. Some days I have to adjust the rearview mirror if i drive in the evening as I seem to compress even further
