Hi all.

I've bought a used Sapphire ATI RX470 graphics card and it only has an HDMI connection point and 3 other unknown to me connection points. Fortunately my monitor has an HDMI point on it. Would I be right in saying that it is just "connect up as usual, install drivers and off you go?"

Pardon my ignorance but I was expecting to see the usual graphics card monitor port!

So long as I can get it to work I don't care what connection point it has!

Thanks ahead.

Yes HDMI will work perfectly with no setup required. The other ports are probably Displayport connectors. VGA and DVI are somewhat a thing of the past now in new graphics cards.

Thanks very much!

It seems that I'm getting really bad frame rates with the card. I'm playing World Of Warplanes and I'm only getting 28 fps. My guess is that it's the HDMI connection that's the issue rather than the card. Would the connection port type affect the cards performance?

The RX470 is a fairly good mid-range card. HDMI wont be a problem unless you're doing 1440p at 144hz. What are the specs of the system, and what games at what settings?

It seems to working ok now! I did a restart and the frame rates shot up! I'm playing World Of Warplanes at high settings and I'm now getting 37 fps and BF1 which is roughly the same.

I would have bought a higher end card but a new child on the way has scuppered that! Still it's a step up from the GTX650 that I was using.
