Hi I would appreciate some advise on what card to choose....
Currently I have a HP xw8600 workstation, 8gb ram, 1 x quad core xeon 3.2ghz and a Quadro FX570 256mb graphics card and a 850w power supply. Now I use the system for 3DsMax mainly and Photoshop and Its fine for my needs, recently I have started dabbling with some games that a mate gave to me and have began to get into them. What I want is some advise on what card to upgrade to, one that will give decent performance in 3ds and in games. Below is a list of the games:

HL2, Prey, Call of Duty (modern warefare) assasins creed, wolfenstein 2009, FEAR, Bioshock, Farcry and 2, race driver grid and most importantly Crisis. Now i can hardly play crisis with the current card, only on low settings. I have a 22" monitor (1650x1280) and windows 7 64. I want a card that will run crisis well at the best possible res. My budget is only going to be between 40 & 100quid. I was looking at a 9800gtx on ebay as I can sli at some point. But would a newer Ati or Nvidia card be better taking into account my budget. I know some newer cards support dx11 and have more ram but the 9800 seems to outperform some of them in reviews I have read!

There are so many cards about now just don't know what to pick?!?!?!

Can someone please advise..

Regards to all!

The 9800 would outperform some DX11 cards in a DX11 game as it would only be running in DX10 and therefore not using the features DX11 has which is less stressful on the card.

What OS are you using?

What motherboard do you have? Is it PCI-E 1.0 or 2.0?

But the Nvidia is hot and power hungry. Your PSU may be 850w but you need to check the amperage on the 12v rail to be sure.

TBH I don't know if your PSU will do, it might, it might not. You'll have to check the card requirements online and compare them to the PSU spec in that link you posted.
