Grr... Microsoft Live.com account hacked

Fortunately I got an email form MS to say some scrote had changed the email address associated with my live.com account. Needless to say it was not me.

I've scanned my PC and found nothing. I've changed the password, but it's the first time any of my accounts have been hacked.

This they simply email or text you a code.

I have that as well - there's no way I can remember the individual passwords for the 100+ accounts I have all over the place.

Use the Microsoft account app.

Don't use obvious security questions.

I've had to disable 2FA on the account because it bollixes remote access to my home server.

Just to clarify the issue, enabling 2FA means that Windows Server Essentials 2012 cannot link to Microsoft to register the domain for Remote Web Access.
