Okay, so I was stupid. I had a version of FFDshow on my computer, and it worked, partially. Then I got cocky, searched for something better and deleted it. I tried FFDshow again, and it wouldn't startup whenever I put Windows media player on. So, is there a definite codec or solution to get .AVI's and Mpeg4 and all the rest, working properly in Windows Media Centre and player. I've tried the Vista Codec Pack by Shark007, didn't work. I've tried K-Lite Codec, partially worked, but the video file needed setting as Windows Media player as default. As for some reason it shows up as I have 2 Windows Media Players. Okay, I have VLC, can't really fault it, though it does lack the quality of WMP. Also, I want to get it working properly so I can use my Xbox 360 as a Media player, but as I said, windows Media Centre is really awkward, and even when I had WMP working with .AVI, centre still did not work.
