Effectively he is doing graffiti. I condemn the action.

Anybody stepping into the road spraying is putting themselves and others at risk. There is no reason for people in Kirklees to take such drastic action

grrrr this government annoys me, this man is showing a legitimate act of demand which happened loads about 20-40 years ago, now its a petty crime and dangerous :@

why dont the government accept his work and get some lazy dum ass workers to fix it, and probably somehow manage to make it worse, tbh if the worker were going to fix it, they would have to spray paint round them so they no what to repair, it happens on the roads up hear, why is the public citizen always the one in the wrong?????????

Spraying big yellow marks all over the road looks awful is potentially a dangerous distraction for drivers. I would say that the big yellow circles are at least as much of a problem as the pot-holes, and I certainly agree with "the evil government" that he's vandalising and should be held to account for that.

Not that roads shouldn't be repaired, but there is at least a very good arguement that he's a criminal.

pah, i bet your a government worker

Good on him I say

If it doesn't get them fixed at least it makes them easier to see. We have some terrible roads round here, and the other night after heavy rain I drove through a huge hole by accident. Thought I'd damaged the wheel from the noise it made.

It's not really graffiti either most roads will have yellow or white spraypaint on them as things are constantly being marked out by utility companies or occasionally road repair teams.

It does make you wonder where your road tax goes and how other Countries manage to keep their roads in good condition.

I guess the reason its dangerous is (from what i could get off the news today) ...

The yellow marks are put down by engineers, that have checked that no gas mains/electricity is running underneath.

Some labourer with a road drill comes along, starts drilling ... BOOOOOM

my mum hit a pothole in her fiesta ghia at night, needed new alloy new tyre and even a new ****ing steering column totalling 900quid!!!!!!!

council say our policy is to check the road every 6months and we do that so we arent paying out.

Yet....
She reported it and then went back 2days later with digicam to take a pic yet some-one else had already reported it and had it filled in by the council.
The council filled the holes in, surely thats accepting liability.
Now she wonders why the hell she pays her road tax. I thought it was to maintain our roads. Hmmmmm As you can all udnerstand she is well and truely ****ed off.
The man in question in this thread has done ntohing wrong i dont think. The council are just being a pain as always rather than doing something constructive.

She had to claim on her insurance as 900quid is a lot of money. She had no nocaims as I have them all as im under 20 so her car insurance is going to go up next year by a significant amount.

Labour makes it their 1st priorority to screw every hard working middle and bottom end of the upper class class english person in the ass as hard and often as possible. This country is in a right mess

.

Because the council has now filled it in, your mother doesn't have proof that the road was in state of disrepair when the damage to the car occured, and the council will deny it. Good luck with court case. :(

I've gone over potholes on my pushbike, and one time lost control because it was filled with oil, and I would hate to think of those same holes with a motor vehicle (especially a motorbike) going over/into them at speed.

it was a back road (not a lane a proper road) with no streetlights sopotholes are impossible to see. As the tyre exploded she had to get the AA out to change the tyre due to the pitch darkness.
She reported it then went back to days later to take a photo as evidence, yet the day before hand it had been filled in. The council are sticking to their 6 monthly check. Thing that annoys me is they would have her in court if she didnt tax her car for a week.
