grrrr graphics card issues... Crashing during microsoft word ??

i cant use microsoft word for love nor money... if i start it up i get funny artifacts on the page and then the system either locks or reboots. ive also got a damn wierd problem at the windows log in screen...

i thought it may have been my 400 watt PSU so i upgraded to a 480 watt but that did t help either.

also some websites will cause the system to reboot too...

performance in game is fantastic, 3d mark scores are great at 11K but these small scale problems are quite odd to say the least.

the ATi cat 6.9 drivers would not install !!! they just gave me errors during install and an 8K 3dmark score so i am using the omega 6.8 drivers which have been great.

any clues ??

worked fine on my 7800GT and my X1800XT (i put the X1800 in for rma and used the GT for 2 months, i used driver cleaner on the system before i installed the new card)

plus ive got applications weaved across 300 gigs of drives, it would take days to sort it all out before a format.

managed to fix the flickering log in screen by shunting my primary monitor onto the second DVI output and putting the secondary monitor on the first... dont ask me why thats made a difference as i havent a clue...

ive also updated the omega drivers, i was using 6.8, now on 6.9`s and so far ms word seems to be working... may of been some driver dll causing a conflict with the 6.8`s im really not sure. will run it for a few hours and report back if it all goes to hell.
