I reinstalled XP the other day as I went back to a RAID 1 setup.

I forgot to do the registry edits on 'Fold1' and it downloaded a totally rubbish 128ppd WU.:(

Luckily, I remembered to do the registry edits on 'Fold 2' and it downloaded an excellent 550ppd WU.:)

So I have half a sulk on.... particularly since I am so close to 10,000 points.

Registry edits? What h4x are these? :p

As above -advmethods is no longer required. It's in the advanced part of the config (run -configonly on a shortcut).

well -forceasm is still pretty handy to keep SSE going when you've had a powercut beforehand or something, also -verbosity 9 is quite useful if anything goes wrong

I shall run configonly when it's done this ludicrous WU, It's a 3405 worth 206 points and it's going to take another 26 hours yet.......

EDIT: In fact the 2611 on the 2nd Core, which I installed properly some hours after realising my error with the first, has just overtaken it and will finish it's 682 points first.

I am alone in keeping an enthusiastic eye on the Fahmon console ?

It's contagious this folding malarky.:)

I've a 3402 and a 1170 on the second e6300 at work - both are matching each other step for step but the 1170 is worth 2.5 more. Both are flag'd

hope they arn't running out of nice Wu's already

Edit: here's my work rigs in glorious technicolour care of a friend at team 36120. The addiction only gets work with more machines :D

@stan if you read this - this is what I was taking about in the news, might help when your offshore. :)

Very nice. I downloaded the nice WU after the rubbish one so you should be OK.

The Folding at Home website thinks I have 7 active CPU's now... if only. Might have the W/C Shuttle online this weekend though.

Can't remember when I stopped folding but decided last night to join back in again.

I have 2 standard clients 1 on each core, and despite setting both cores on -advmethods via the advanced config one of them downloaded a 3405 last night.

It had trouble connecting to the assigned server and after lots of attempts it switched to another IP. Maybe thats why it recieved a low point project?

205 points and its only running slightly faster than the other which is a 574 point 1168 :(

welcome back :D

should see you in the 'news' on thursday (issued anytime between 7 and late August :D )
fixed :p

Welcome back - things are a lot busier since you were last here with changes to assignment server code aswell as a huge increase in participants and WUs getting ever larger to send/receive. You usually can get work though at least even if it's not the best, everyone's in the same boat so it all averages out in the end
