Hi I recently got sent a new Galaxy S3 4G LTE from EE / Orange, and i have put my old sim (few years old now) in and it all seems to work however, i never seem to get a 4G connection.. only 3G or 3G+

I have tried most options and setting and everything related to 4G should be on, however it never seems to reach 4G connection.

Orange sent me a new SIM with the phone (Does 4G need a new SIM type?) I have tried installing it in the phone but it informs me i cannot register on Orange or Orange / T-Mobile networks. (And EE does not show up with that SIM inserted).

Any ideas?

Just ask them to send you out a new sim or pop into store and pick one up that should sort your problem.

SIM is unregistered, you need to phone up to activate them. They don't send out activated SIMs because posties were intercepting them, sending them to foreign countries, running up huge bills to naughty numbers then ditching them.

Seems like a faulty/inactive sim TBH, Bit obviuos but you are on a 4G tariff right ? The reason I ask is that you sim should be branded EE and not Orange (I know they are the same companies but only EE sims are 4G ATM)

Well i was informed i would be on 4G tariff when i spoke to the sales person, but they were pretty incompetent so i have no hope :) If i was on a 4G tariff would my old SIM not become in-active?

Or does that only happen once the new SIM is activated? (which is obviously isn't).

When I changed to 4G they sent me a new SIM. I had to send a text to a number with the old SIM in then swap the SIMs over.
