Interested in this laptop, but wondering about upgrading it.

Would I be able to fit a 960 EVO POLARIS 1TB M.2 2280 PCI-E 3.0 X4 NVME SOLID STATE DRIVE to the second M.2 slot?

If so would I invalidate the warranty opening the laptop to do so?

Any ETA yet? :-)

Cheers,

John.

Yes you could, assuming it has a second m2 slot, which i don't know personally. Your warranty wouldn't be affected so long as in doing so you didn't damage any components and subsequently made a claim (highly unlikely you'd dmg anything tbh, it really is simple) I've seen a review saying that its hard to get into this particular laptop though, but that could have been a prototype model.

Cheers JimboJet.

The laptop comes with:

1 x M.2 slot, supports PCIe or SATA SSD device
1 x M.2 slot, supports PCIe SSD device

Will need to see if I can find info on opening it up.

Cheers,

John.

I'm also considering this laptop (weighing it up against the Aero 15x). I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to be really hard to get to the relevant slots....

Is the cooling & fan noise any better than the 15x?

I'm now also looking at the Aero 15x. I have an Aorus X5 with 3K screen and for working this is ideal compared to 1080p. MS Project and spreadsheets are so much easier with more real estate.

The spec page at gigabyte shows a layout of where the 2 slots are. I presume its the bottom of the motherboard as you see the h/s & fan layout too.
