Indeed.

Shocked at that fact the 8000 modules are double the price and the timing are 5 as opposed to 12.

Give me the 6400's any day :D
 
LA's look good for us on a budget too. I was going to get 1gb of corsair but might be tempted for 2gb of the gskill LA. Lovely yellow heatspreaders :p
 
Are tight timings a crucial thing on am2 and conroe like on a64 or is it more towards memory speed like on xp?
 
Timings are most important on A64s as always, that's why AM2 isn't very good. Speed is king on Intel systems still, but tight timings will be more noticable on Conroe than they have been on P4s.
 
So CL3 is worth getting, can someone clear up wether ECC ram can be used or is required even? Iam guessings its servers only but Ive read that is registered ram which is something else again :confused:
