Hi,

Due to the fsb restrictions on my P965 DS4 with quad core cpu I was wondering what would be the best settings for my ram?

Currently at 333mhz (x2) 4 3 3 7 but do you think cas 3 is out of the question?
Would higher speed with looser timings be better?

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers
Steevo

The HZ is pretty damn good memory, so CAS3 @333mhz should be possible.

As for whether more mhz with looser timings is better, you'd have to benchmark to find out. But the HZ may do 500mhz @4-4-4-12 and that should be faster than 333mhz @CAS3.

Mine need 2.3v at 500MHz 4-4-4-12 to run stable - interestingly they will do 1T on boards that support it at upto ~430MHz on stock timings which is very fast...

I found the sweet spot on mine for timings, "safe" voltage and performance crossover was 480MHz, 4-4-4-10 @ 2.2v - if your prepared to up the voltage they will do some pretty tight timings at 480MHz.

Thanks for the replies

Will have to experiment at the weekend.

They were running 900 4 4 4 12 at 2.1v rock solid with my E6300 so will try for 1000.
Don't want to push the voltage up too much as I already had one set die on me.

Mine have taken a punishing voltage wise and not died (think I had em upto 2.6 at one point) - tho I don't run them over 2.3v ever now and mostly try to stay to 2.2.
