I'm looking for a fast 4 gig kit of 1000 mhz's+ ram cant decide between the Gskill pc8000 v Ocz 8500.What are the pro's and con's of these's kits.

isn't the OCZ on T.W.O?

last week unfortunately, this week the 2GB kits are on T.W.O, I grabbed myself the 4GB kit and have had no problem with them at all in a P5Q-E.

I was toying with the same decision and just went for the cheapest as there didn't seem to be much difference from what the few threads I found/read.

i have gskill and my bro has OCZ, everything else is exactly the same. OCZ get a lesser rating in vista but it out performs the gskill imo. He can achieve better overclocks with higher FBS where as my ram seems to be limiting me. (might be due to the lower operating voltage of my ram tho 1.8-2.0v)

OCZ has better support - but g.skill's is ok - other than that theres not really much in them. I run sets of both and have RMA'd sets to both and overall the experience was pretty much the same - only g.skill took longer end to end for the RMA.

I have this memory and it easily overclocks to 1000MHz @ 1.8v G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PQ PC2-6400C5 (2x2GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit (F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ) (I have read somewhere that this memory uses the same memory chips as the G.Skill PC2-8000C5 memory)
