GSXR 600 Moto GP Insurance?

I might get myself a new GSXR 600 in the next few weeks/months and would really like the Moto GP edition. It's basically just a bunch of extras and a different colour for not much more money.

The only problem is, when I get a quote on gocompare or confused they both say they can't quote, which normally means it's stupidly expensive. When I put the normal 600 in, all the prices come up fine.

I haven't had the chance to call insurance yet for a proper quote, hence the post here.

Is it normal for a special edition like this to be stupid insurance, or is it more likely they just don't have enough data on that bike to give a quote online?

Thanks

Probably dont have enough data yet,you could insure it as a regular 600 and declare the extras ? Or not

Only way is to ring and ask for a quote, might take a while for them to catch up and list the proper model on the website

Is this done by reg or by model? If you can ge the reg just use that and see what type they have it registered as, might get you round the silly website problems.

It's by model as I'll be buying new. I'll ring them up when I next get a chance - hopefully it isn't ridiculously expensive.

It's not an exact science, but can you think of any other similar bikes that also have a GP edition...try quoting yourself for both the vanilla and GP versions to give yourself an idea of the price difference?
