Gsync enable all the time

Is there a way of forcing all games to use Gsync or is it only certain games that can use it?

I am using Nvidia driver 372.90 with a 980Ti. In Gsync setup I have it enabled with 'enable g-sync for windowed and full screen mode' on.

Some games seem to work fine without anything needing to be changed, others seem to ignore it completely and use whatever you set in options (e.g. Trackmania Canyon v-sync is on but fps goes to 150 and vsync doesnt look like its on to me)

Crysis seems to work with vsync but fps and vsyn is capped at 50fps/hz unless I turn vsync off, then fps shoots up but vsync/gsync is not on

You need to make sure VSync is enabled in the NV Control Panel, and VSync is turned off in games, that's it, nothing else.

There are a few titles that don't carry G-sync support afaik nasha, however, Nv don't supply a list of the ones that don't carry support.

Enable Fast-Sync as well as G-Sync, The both work well together but remember to turn off ingame frame limiter options and V-Sync :)

I didn't know that I always thought they worked with everything, So are there also titles that don't work with with Freesync or is it only a G-sync thing?

Fullscreen + Windowed mode "should" work with pretty much every game in theory pretty much even the ones that use borderless, etc. fake fullscreen that said G-Sync seems to be a bit flakey in some stuff lately with recent drivers :S

Well Freesync and G-Sync are basically the same so it should be the same with most games.

Personally I'm not sure what would actually stop either from working in a game.

if ur gaming at 3440x1440p just use gsync and vsync on in NCP..

fast sync is pointless as most games u wont get over 100FPS with max settings

if u can at lower res then use gsync and fast sync and disable vsync ingame!

never had any game not use gsync before works with everything ive played!

Thanks, setting vsync on in NV panel and off in games seems to have sorted it... except for Crysis 1 where its limited to 50fps/50hz

Starcraft 2 also doesnt play in 3440 x 1440 (max 2560 x 1440) but think this is due to a game limitation to stop increased fov which is classed as cheating, or at least an unfair advantage

If a game doesn't use an exclusive fullscreen mode funny things can happen - G-Sync's Desktop + Fullscreen option can help there but its not flawless it is one of the weaknesses of adaptive sync that it struggles even more than G-Sync with games that use funny windowed modes.

Straight from the horses mouth:

Q: Does NVIDIA G-SYNC work for all games?
A: NVIDIA G-SYNC works with all games. However, we have found some games that do not behave well and for those, we recommend that users take advantage of our control panel’s ability to disable G-SYNC per game. Games that NVIDIA discovers that have trouble with G-SYNC will be disabled by default in our driver.

In my world:

A=No.:p

It still makes me laugh-works with everything except the ones it doesn't.:D

I was informed before FreeSync launched that AMD would be using a 'universal' approach where as Nv at that time had previously said they were implementing a per game approach-new titles were always covered due to Nv's GR drivers almost always landing just before game launches.

However, noticed on driver notes that AMD were having problems with Paragon with FreeSync mgpu and just got fixed on 10.1, so I'm surmising now they are both having to fine tune some titles.

Personally I'm not sure what would actually stop either from working in a game.

Games that Iv'e noticed when G-Sync didn't work were FO4-think it was to do with engine forced refresh rate@launch and Mad Max was glitchy too(don't know what it was but was fixed), both got sorted relatively quickly with patches.

Interesting. With Doom 4, the only way I can get g-sync to work is by turning v-sync off in nv control panel. If left forced on with v-sync off in the game I am limited to 60fps / 60hz

There's definitely some weird things to manage with GSync, but in general I usually lock VSync on in NVCP, and lock Rivatuner to 98fps target (100Hz panel), then leave VSync off in game or allow unlimited frames.
Usually works but there are so odd standouts like FIFA (certain cameras), Shadow Warrior 2 etc

In my experience it's worked in every title I've played, although admittedly that's been a relatively small selection since I've been using G-sync.
