Just upgraded to a 27 inch Acer monitor with gysnc and after a night on civ6 I can't say amazingly impressed as I thought I'd be
Because of the damn flickering. It's very slight but it's noticeable.

Are they all like this?

I feel like it's not as good as the hype.

I notice this somewhat on my Dell 24" 1440p 165hz screen, good example for me is that it shows up when using the Steam overlay browser, and scrolling a page while in game, i also notice a slight grid like effect with it.. But tbh i don't notice it much now, not when my game runs 100+fps anyway.

So yeah it seems to happen at low fps in my experience with Gsync.

Double check you have 120Hz(or whatever Hz the monitor supports) as output onscreen in general won't be working very nice if the proper Hz isn't selected, and, maybe someone with Civ6 can check G-Sync is supported and working.

Hardware wise, past experience points to either/combination of DP cable/faulty monitor/gpu DP output as there shouldn't be any flickering at all.

My gsync monitor in sig flickers on loading screens, I always figured it was normal as the loading screen only refreshes the image when it's making progress. It's never flickered on desktop or during gameplay.

I would get some flickering when i tried to run 100hz on my x34a but it would stop after it had warmed up.

But i just run it a 95hz with no flickering ever.

Load screen flicker is normal and is due to the way Gsync works. You should not get any flicker in game unless your FPS is <30. Also, check whether Civilization has detected the correct refresh rate for your monitor.

Go to the Gsync section in the Nvidia control panel. Click "Display" at the top of the screen and select Gsync indicator. This will display the word "Gsync" in your game if it's on and working correctly.
