Hey pretty noob question here, thinking of getting a secondary monitor but it’s freesync and not Gsync. Question is, does freesync work with nvidia gpus? In the sense that, I am aware that I can enable Gsync from the nvidiau panel when freesync is enabled, but let’s say I turn gsync off in the nvidia panel but have freesync enabled in the monitor settings. Does it still do what Gsync is supposed to? Or is freesync exclusive to amd gpus? Thanks!

Yes. But question was whether it would work if I disabled Gsync in the panel but turned on freesync in the monitor settings using the monitor buttons.

My Titan Xp (effectively a 1080ti) supported freesync, but I had some issues with my Acer 38" UW which while the monitor is not certified it kind of worked, however I would get a black screen for 2-3 seconds every now and again. The RTX 3080 has been pretty much flawless with the same monitor... Obviously you need to ensure you keep in the monitors freesync range, but when it works, it is really good!
