Afternoon,

To explain I currently have a Dell U2515H. It's my main driver and I do everything on it. Coding/productivity and games, largely BF4/1 and titanfall 2. As you likely know the Dell is a 25" 1440p IPS panel.

I have just been gifted a new Benq 240 hz monitor xl2540.

I know very little about monitors. I have a decent rig and my GPU is a GTX 1070.

I wanted a multi monitor setup anyway so would I be best served keeping the Dell and the BenQ or getting rid of both and getting something G-Sync enabled?

Any help and explanations greatly welcomed.

It really depends on the sort of games you like. The Benq 240hz is an amazing monitor if you are a hardcore twitch fps game fanatic :D others are better suited to other types of games!

There is an asus rog coming out soon with both 240hz and gsync! :) using the same panel as this Benq, ofcourse.

Trouble is I have the Dell and the BenQ just turned up. Not sure whether to bin the BenQ for a Dell 27" with G-Sync?

Or I can keep the two I have, the Dell for work and the BenQ for play?

Edit: games tends to be BF1/4 and titanfall etc no CSGO or anything

Yeah the Dell 27 inch with G Sync does some a superb all rounder. Hmm decisions decisions.

Is g-sync something you must have? It's a lot of extra money for what it does so it's handy if you've tried it yourself. Also can you really live with different res panels side by side? Either way if I were in your shoes I'd get shot of the Benq and put the cash into something I know I'd get the most out of.

For the games I play, I'd take Gsync over 240Hz any day, in theory. I've used niether, but given the types I play, and the typical FPS I get, Gsync would be of much greater benefit to me than a static, high Hz screen.

240hz seems like overkill to me. If you were playing CS at a competitive level then I could maybe see the point, but for BF1 and Titanfall?

Do you want or need 1080p at 240hz? I would personally go for G Sync / 100+hz / 1440p and then pick up a cheap second monitor if you still want one.

Fair point all. I think I'll sell the BenQ in the MM, haven't even powered it on. Wish I had kept the shipping box.

I'll look at something else or just stick with my U2515h for now
