Hi all and thank you for popping in,

I'm a little lost when it comes to adaptive refresh rate tech as of late. I can't find a definitive answer somewhere that straight up says that Freesync monitors WILL take advantage of my 2080 Super and that I won't be making the wrong decision. Ideally i'd like to stay away from the Gsync tax that is stamped on most gaming monitors if I can and come away with the same performance just...for less.

I'm looking to get a 27", 1440p, IPS monitor that's going to be primarily used for fast paced games like Apex Legends. I assumed I was locked into Gsync monitors so i've been looking at these:

Acer Predator XB271HUbmiprz

ASUS PG279Q ROG SWIFT

Dell S2716DG

Am I looking at monitors that are more expensive than they need to be? Can I just buy a Freesync alternative that's going to save me money and deliver the same performance?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
