GT good enough?

That monitor is abit expensive for a 20.1"? Why is it so much my 22" that cost me £187 seems to have comparable specs to that and a better response time

Seems its a lot more money just for a 4 port usb hub..

Also an 8800GT is fine for that res.

Two things:

A GT will be fine at that res - I have the same monitor and I did have a GT. However, for the extra bit of money, better cooler, more stream processors (may come in handy for physics - see other thread on here) I would buy the GTS 512Mb. At that res, overclocked it will be faster than a GTX unless you put on loads of AA in which case in some games the GTX might be slightly ahead.

Secondly, willhub, the NEC is miles ahead of your screen. Look here:

You will see it is a high quality S-IPS screen which in real world tests is "more responsive than a 6ms TN Film panel" and "on par with a 4ms TN Film monitor "

Colour gamut is superb and the DeltaE colour fidility readings averaging 0.1 makes it suitable for semi professional use. And the blacks are just so deep and fantastic.

The reflective screen isn't everybody's cup of tea and you will either love it or hate it but I find it a superb monitor and makes my games and videos look superb.

Yes, it's a lot of money for a 20.1" screen but the TN film 22" monitors don;t even come close to it.

I have the 20WGX2, best bloody picture ever, its a glossy type screen but for me the overall clarity is worth it over the glare type screens, you pay for quality with the NEC. OT, just get a GT its perfect for 1680x1050 rez.

Just out of interest I notice on tftcentral NEC have finally released a 22.5" 1920 x 1200 panel which looks fantastic and should be even better than the 20WGX2.

I would expect them to want £500 once they make a screen out of it though :(

Spot on, thats why I'm going for one of those, I'd rather have quality over a bigger, inferior screen:)

Thanks for the points about the GT lads, check the spec though, I already have one;) Good to know it'll run that panel:D

That said, if the GTS's where a bit cheaper and the GTX was the low price of not to long ago I may have been tempted ;)

Fair dos then never knew there would be all those differences, for me though going from a 19" to a 20.1" would not be worth it no matter how good the quality, 22" only just about does it, I proberbly would not notice much difference from my 22" Hyundai monitor and the NEC apart from maybe able to turn DV off in NV Control properties :p.
