Hi there

Camera car is 3.8 and is keeping with 4.0 though you can see 4.0 has legs on straights. However it all comes to a very near nasty ending around 9 minutes in.

Looks to me that the camera car was just following the lead car's line and that's why he followed him off? Well timed just after passing the slower cars - bet they were a bit

The one thing they teach you in advanced driving or track driving, follow your own line, not the car in front. Most of all if the car in front is going off do not watch it, otherwise you too will go off.

That nearly ended in disaster as he was so close to ploughing into the rear of the 4.0

It looked like the change in elevation had something to do with it as well, but yea, does seem very odd too someone with very little track day experience like me that the guy seemingly follows him off.

Several laps in, two mates hugely competitive against each other, having to pass some slow traffic putting them both offline and mega keen to keep with his mate.

I suspect the element of control and calm went out the window and it was more a case of must not let him get away and as such he followed his mates incorrect line and followed him off. All in all though superb driving by both of them, would love to drive road Atlanta, bit far to go though. :p

Road Atlanta looks such a daunting circuit to me, surely one that requires a hell of a lot of commitment and confidence?!

Some of the elevation changes are pretty dramatic, at high speeds thats gotta make the car feel pretty nervous at times, and the way the slopes effect sighting and ability to position the car for many the corners makes it even more of a challenge.

The states has epic race circuits, I'm not sure people realise how many epic race circuits there are in North America as everyone suspects ovals are king.

I only really found out about the USAs great 'non-oval' circuits from playing computer games (that GTR mod for F1 2002, scary for me to think it was ten years since I was playing that :D).

Watkins Glen
Road Atlanta
Road America

Those are the ones that spring to mind as ones that were great on the game and look epic when you watch videos of real cars driving them, everyone raves about Laguna Seca but without the corkscrew I think Road Atlanta looks far more of a challenge!
