GT5 Control Options

Hi guys, this game is driving me round the twist.

I always play with a controller where R2 is the accelerate etc., I've been through the controller setup options on the main menu many, many times now and have set it so that R2 is accelerate, I've also tried x as accelerate, and set the right analog stick to none for both up and down. I then go to try a race, and I have no accelerate buttons at all!! R2 doesn't work, nor does x, I really hate using the analog stick for accelerate/braking, but I'm stuck with it, anyone else had this problem? I've tried several controllers (official DS3, Sixaxis etc.), and they're all the same...

Never had that problem, are you sure you are changing controller 1 setup? making sure you don't exit without saving?

Yep, tried both controller 1 and controller 2 setup, and I OK instead of Cancel. When I go back to the screen, the settings are as I'd left them, but it just doesn't work...

Try it in arcade mode, Maybe in GT mode you have to use x etc

Tried it in GT mode and in arcade mode and split screen mode. Now switched off the controllers, swapped them around, and the x button is working inexplicably, however the R2 button still isn't. God this is getting annoying!!!

i did this without trouble. Bit of a guess but try changing the left-stick accelerate to R2 as its analogue rather than the 'X' or whatever button is default as it's digital. That's what I did and it worked first time.

I've changed my braking and accelerating to L2 + R2, and its been fine for me. Just do it in the Options in the main menu, and make sure it saves
